Stocking Policy

  • Instantly understand where an ordering recommendation comes from by looking at this chart
  • Not only does NETSTOCK show you how long the components in your policy are, but it will also show you how many items are forecasted to be sold in that timeframe:
    • LT – Lead Time from placing an order, to when the inventory lands in your warehouse
    • SS – Safety Stock, based on the risk profile of this item
    • RC – Replenishment Cycle, i.e. How many you want to purchase at a time
    • Fill – What Fill Rate or Service Level you’re aiming to give your customers
  • See where your current inventory position needs to be augmented to get to the stocking policy:
    • O/H – Current Stock On Hand
    • O/O – Any stock that’s already On Order from the supplier
    • B/O – Any outstanding Back Orders from your customers

    • Forecast – Forecasted from sales history
    • BOM – Bill-of-Material demand on raw materials from all finished goods into which they go
    • CW – Central Warehouse demand from all the locations that order stock from this warehouse
  • Quickly compare historical sales trends with forecasted trends, to understand if forecasts have to be amended

Why order when you can transfer?

  • Instead of wasting working capital on ordering more inventory, you may be able to transfer from another location at a fraction of the cost
  • NETSTOCK will show you exactly how much is available elsewhere, highlighting locations with excess

Order summary

  • Quickly see the order totals in terms of
    • Total value
    • Total units
    • Physical volume
    • Physical weight
  • This makes it very easy to see if you are within any order limits set by your suppliers
  • Instantly see what amendments you’ve made to the recommended orders

Top-up intelligently

  • When the recommended order isn’t enough to fill a container, you shouldn’t just randomly add items to the order
  • NETSTOCK will tell which items are coming up for order next, so that you can add items that make sense
  • So even if you have to add to your order, you are still driving your inventory to your ideal stocking policy
